POLYDIOXANONE sutures

 In

Polydioxanone or PDO is monofilament synthetic absorbable suture is prepared from the polyester, poly(p-dioxanone). Polydioxanone polymer has been found to be nonallergenic, nonpyrogenic and elicits only a slight tissue reaction during absorption. The sutures are available dyed (violet).

In vivo performance of absorbable sutures is described by tensile strength retention and absorption rate (loss of mass). PDO suture has been formulated to minimize the variability of these characteristics and to provide wound support through an extended healing period. The retention strength of the polydioxanone suture is more than 65% of the initial strength after 28 days.
  • Polydioxanone or PDO suture is a synthetic absorbable sterile surgical suture
  • PDO suture is available from USP size 8-0 to 2
  • Provides easy passage through the tissues without damaging
  • Polydioxanone polymer is non-allergenic, non-pyrogenic and elicits only minimal tissue reaction during absorption
  • The retention strength of the PDO suture is more than 65% of the initial strength after 28 days
  • Absorption of PDO suture is essentially complete by 180-210 days

PRODUCT PACKAGING
