Cardio ePTFE Sutures

 In

Needle-hole bleeding reduction: The unique cardiovascular ePTFE suture design, based on Golnit’s proprietary technology, allows to achieve a 1:1  needle/suture diameter ratio. Because the needle diameter is equal or smaller in size than the suture diameter, the fiber fills the hole as it passes through the tissue, resulting in less bleeding to the surgical site.

  • PTFE suture is a non-absorbable, monofilament suture composed of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) polymer
  • Softer than silk and absolutely inert
  • Monofilament: do not harbor microorganisms
  • Inert and biocompatible
  • High tensile strength and high knot security
  • Very easy to handle
  • Almost no package memory

Main Advantages of Golnit ePTFE Sutures

The Golnit® cardiovascular ePTFE sutures are highly popular. The ePTFE material is porous and is about 50% air by volume. It is also extremely light, soft, with no packaging memory and excellent biocompatibility profile. Thanks to its design, the ePTFE suture is exceptionally useful during procedures where the bleeding is a risk factor:

Superior physical and biological characteristics: cardiovascular ePTFE sutures are completely biocompatible and  foster a benign tissue response. The sutures are also easy to handle, are very soft and flexible.

The Golnit® ePTFE suture is suitable for a wide range of procedures that include:

  • Mitral valve repair and replacement
  • Vascular reconstruction and repair
  • Ventral and inguinal hernia repair

Premium Sharp needles:  Sutures are made with high-grade (AISI 302) stainless steel quality needles that remain sharp pass after pass limiting trauma to tissues.
